The 1850 Settlement | San Antonio, TX | 4 PM to 12 AM
This will be the first known music festival that will be completely deaf accessible to all those in the HOH/deaf community, melding individuals with hearing aids, implants and those who communicate with American Sign Language (ASL). The Good Vibrations Music & Arts Festival will have live captioning, ASL interpretation, T-coiling, front row seating, vibrating backpacks and a visual light show, which will sync to the performances.
Who it Benefits
All profits made from the Good Vibrations Music & Arts Festival will go to Aid the Silent. The organization caters to deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens. Because things like hearing aids and assistive hearing devices are not covered under insurance policies in more than half the country, Aid the Silent works on raising funds for things such as these along with speech therapy, ASL lessons and sending children and teens to summer camp.
Hearing aids alone cost upwards of $4,500 for a pair. Many people go without them simply because they cannot afford to pay for it out-of-pocket. Whether a deaf individual chooses to use hearing aids and communicate orally or if they choose to simply communicate through sign language, Aid the Silent wants to help this community. The nonprofit’s team also works hard for equal rights and opportunities for the deaf/HOH by hosting fundraisers that are accessible to them.
All profits from the music fest will go directly toward helping the deaf/HOH community.
We rounded up the some of the most talented and well-respected artists in the country to bring to you a music experience unlike any other melding popular singer-song writers, reputable Christian bands, and creative local musicians.
We know good music goes better with good food so we brought a variety of local favorite food trucks, restaurants and bakeries to the festival for patrons to enjoy. For info on who’s going to be at the show or how to become a vendor, visit our vendors page.
Artisans from all across Texas will feature a plethora of handmade creations at our Artisan’s Market. To have a booth or stand, email email@example.com
